Earlier today, the Osun State Polytechnic Student Union President, Bolaji Olaniyi Ezekiel popularly known as HOPE Congratulates the newly Elected and duly sworn-in Governor of the State of Osun, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola who emerged the winner of the September Gubernatorial Polls in the state.

HOPE, who deemed it fit as one of the stakeholders of the State of Osun congratulates the Governor in his congratulatory message as seen below...

BEING THE CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO ALHAJI ISIAKA GBOYEGA OYETOLA, THE NEW GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF OSUN.

The Students Union Government of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree under the able leadership of Comrade Bolaji Olaniyi Ezekiel a.k.a HOPE hereby uses this medium to convey our hearty congratulations to the new Governor of the State of Osun, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola.

The assignments of governance in Osun is indeed a huge one, we want to believe you're better equipped with a blueprints which is capable of solving our problems one by one.

In the best interest of our State, we wants to quickly call your attention to some situations as you take on the mantle of leadership within the State, Firstly, is the state of Tertiary Education within the state of Osun, we must assert that the last administration contributed immensely to basic education than tertiary education within the State, while we wants to grievously maintain that tertiary education has long been jettisoned in the State of Osun, It is worrisome to register that the government has not commissioned a block in tertiary institution in the past few years, we therefore wants to beseech you Sir to look critically into this situations as we have stated below From infrastructural development, Government Subventions, improvement on the funding of education to disbursement of bursary allowances to the Osun Students, perhaps our assertions are subject to public scrutiny that the tertiary institution has not experienced any of the above in the last few years, therefore we wants to beseech your leadership to as a matter of responsibility place tertiary education at topmost priority.

Moreso, Osun in its current state is a state with infinitesimal revenue base, this obnoxious situation has therefore as a matter of exigency necessitated policies which will enhance socioeconomic growth, as patriotic minds who is passionate about the development of the Osun projects, we also wants to state that Government should not be dependant on taxation alone for revenue generation, the state must give enabling environment for private (local and foreign) investors and the state must be ready to be in partnership with Private investors for investment in the state which will enhance industrialization, this will bring about job opportunities to our youths, enhance socioeconomic growth and economic development and in no distant time will improve the Gross domestic products (GDP) of the state of Osun, Agriculture should be the mainstay of the economy, the state therefore must invest more on agricultural development to drive the economy of the state, this will enhance food security, drive meaningful job employments for the youths and boost economic growth.

Your excellency Sir, we wants to state that truly, as asserted by the immediate past Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola that the state can generate up to five billion naira monthly, we have of same opinion that the state can truly generate revenue as such when we endeavour on long-run policies than short run projects, long run policies that is capable of sustaining the economy and can serve as a revenue base within the state, the state must not endeavour white elephant projects, hence the need for the government to be financially prudents in projects delivery (we must not gulp than we can chew, guess we are learning the hard way from the deficiency of the immediate past administration), furthermore, moribund projects within the state must be reawakened and resuscitated for revenue generation, we also wants to register that Osun is endowed with fascinating and strategic locations that could be used for tourist attractions which could be a way to generate revenue to the state coffers.

We are of high conviction that if we allow our mandate to begin to respond to needs of the Osun people, we shall in no distant time attain the greater height we deserve.

Following the light of the sun, we shall leave the old world.

We join all well meaning Osun People to welcome Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola to the leadership of the State of Osun as the Governor.
